Who we are

Information we collect

New-family enquiries. When you complete our contact form, we collect the parent or guardian’s name, relationship to the child, email address, phone or WhatsApp number, the child’s first name and age, the service you’re interested in, your preferred time to be reached, and your consent to be contacted.

Job applications. When you apply through our Careers page, we collect your name, email address, phone number, the role you’re interested in, any message you provide, and the CV or resume file you upload.

Information we deliberately do not collect here. Our forms are designed not to gather medical or health details about your child (such as diagnoses, health-plan or insurance information, or clinical notes). Please do not include sensitive health information in free-text fields.

Technical information. Like most websites, we automatically receive limited technical data such as your IP address and browser or device information, which we may store alongside a submission and in server logs to help keep the site secure.

Cookies, analytics, and similar technologies

Preferences. We store your language choice (English or Portuguese) in your browser’s local storage so we can remember it on your next visit.

Security. We use Cloudflare Turnstile to tell humans and automated bots apart and to protect our forms from abuse.

Analytics. We use PostHog to understand how visitors use the site (for example, which pages are viewed and which buttons are clicked) so we can improve it. This may involve cookies or similar identifiers and the processing of usage and device information. We do not use this information to advertise to you.

You can control cookies through your browser settings and may set a “Do Not Track” preference; disabling some technologies may affect how the site works.

How we use your information

We use the information you provide to respond to your enquiry and arrange a first visit or evaluation; to review and respond to job applications; to operate, secure, and improve the website; and to comply with our legal obligations.

Contacting us through this website does not create a therapist-client or provider-patient relationship.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run the website and our intake process, under agreements that require them to protect it:

Supabase (secure database and file storage for your submission and any uploaded CV); Resend (sending our team an email notification of your enquiry or application); Cloudflare (website hosting, content delivery, and bot protection); and PostHog (website analytics).

We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or property of our families, our staff, or Step Up.

How we protect your information

Information is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS) and stored with access controls that limit access to authorized Step Up staff. Uploaded CVs are kept in private storage and are not publicly accessible. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we use appropriate safeguards to protect your information.

How long we keep information

We keep enquiry details for as long as needed to assist your family and to maintain our business records. We keep job applications and CVs for up to 12 months so we can consider you for suitable openings, unless you ask us to delete them sooner.

Children’s privacy

This website is intended for parents, guardians, and prospective team members, not for use by children. Any information about a child is provided by the adult completing the form. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 through this website.

Your choices and rights

You may ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information you have submitted, or to stop contacting you, by emailing stepup@stepupctc.com. We will respond within a reasonable time. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under applicable privacy laws.

Where your information is processed

We operate in the United States, and our service providers may process and store information in the United States and other countries. If you contact us from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be handled as described in this policy.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above, and significant changes will be reflected on this page.
